On Ruffed Lemur Island you can usually spot a couple of the ruffed lemurs basking on the edge of their island catching some rays, or hanging out in the trees. These inquisitive individuals were more than happy to lend a helping hand and create a unique work of art. Black-and-white ruffed and red ruffed lemurs are native to only Madagascar and are critically endangered.

Sisters Kate and Kyra are 2-year-old Capybaras. As the world's largest rodent, these girls will eventually weigh up to 100 lbs. They love to swim in their pond since they are naturally strong swimmers. Capybaras have webbed feet and can stay underwater for up to 5 minutes at a time!

Magic isn't just the biggest snake at the AGCZ, but it may be the most recognized. Magic has retired from the limelight but still came out to paint a beautiful masterpiece this year.
When Magic isn't hanging out in the pool, it can be seen stretched out in the enclosure. Yellow anacondas are native to South America and their genus name Eunectes means "good swimmer" in Latin.

Kevin Bacon is a fully involved artist and doesn't like to use any one particular style. When creating his works of art, he enjoys using his feet, nose, and finds that a good roll in the paint really adds an extra touch. Two of Kevin Bacon's favorite facts about pigs is that they are generally very clean and are very intelligent.

Benjamin is our tallest resident and artist. He's 12 years old and enjoys spending his days in the yard with Akayla. Don't be fooled by this guy's large size; Benjamin is truly a gentle giant. When he isn't eating or grazing out in the yard, Benjamin enjoys training with his keepers and supervising as they clean his barn.
While many of the zoo residents use their feet and hooves to create their masterpieces, Benjamin takes another approach and uses his mouth to create his works of art.
Giraffes have well-developed lips and a prehensile tongue that allows them to eat the leaves of the thorny acacia tree. Even though most animals avoid the foliage of the tree, giraffes have specialized adaptations to eat the prickly leaves.
